Frequently Asked Questions?  re: Refacing

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Prices can vary widely depending on kitchen size and door style.  We price our kitchens based on the actual cost of materials and time estimates, but you can get a rough idea based on the following. Actual estimates are always free at Cascade Kitchens.

               Number of doors ________ x $250ea = ___________

        Number of drawer fronts_______ x $85ea = ___________

   # of finished side/back panels______x $125ea= ___________

Options:

             Crown Molding   _______ LF x $15= ___________

                   Base Molding _______LF x $12 =___________

                Knob and pulls _________ x $7ea = ____________

           New drawer boxes ________ x $75ea =___________

           Full X drawer slides ________x $50ea=____________

This rough estimate includes all labor and facing the cabinet behind the doors.

Q: Is refacing less expensive than new cabinetry.

A: Not always.  At Cascade Kitchens we only use top quality materials; woods, doors and veneers.  Everything is custom made for your specific kitchen and not able to be mass produced or made overseas.  All of our doors are made here locally.  Most of the woods are grown here in the United States.  So, if you compare our products to equal quality custom cabinets refacing will save you about 40%.  It makes especially good sense if you plan on keeping your countertops.

Refacing doesn't make sense if your cabinets are in especially bad condition or you want to make big changes to your layout.

Q: How long does it take?

A: It usually takes about a week. With new countertops and tile backsplash it can take as much as two weeks.

Q: Will I be able to use my kitchen during the refacing?

A: In most cases YES!  The cabinets do have to be emptied out making cooking a little tricky but often your sink and appliances will still be functional.  We will do our best to lessen the time you are without your sink and the rest of your appliances.  The refrigerator does not have to be moved or emptied.

Q: Do you reface our existing doors and drawer fronts

A: No we make you new custom made doors and drawer fronts with your choice of wood and stain color.

Q: Do you reface in cabinet interiors?

A: If you have a glass door or open cabinet we will, but in most cases it doesn't make economic sense.

Q: Do I need to hire a plumber or electrician to install our new appliances.

A: At Cascade Kitchens we take care of that for you and you save $.

Q: Can I do some of the work and save money?

A: Yes absolutely!  The more you would like to do the more you can save!  We will even lend you tools like our tile saw for free and show you how to use them.
